Festival Inspiration
In the spring of 2023, the Ridgely Middle AVID Scholars were learning why community service is so important and researched both local and worldwide issues that need support. The students dug into the ones they were most passionate about and our small service project turned into a full community service festival! Now in our 2nd year, the AVID students are just as excited to give back and help our community! Your participation and generosity will help support local charities and make a positive impact where it's needed most.

A Little About Who We Are
Ridgely Middle School AVID Program
RMS Principal: Dr. Seth Barish
RMS AVID Site Coordinator: Mrs. Jackie Freeburger
The AVID Program at Ridgely Middle School, established in the 2019-2020 school year by Principal Dr. Seth Barish and AVID Site Coordinator Jackie Freeburger, began with over 50 student applicants vying for 25 spots in our inaugural AVID 8 class. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, AVID at RMS has thrived, now receiving over 200 applicants annually for our two 8th-grade and one 7th-grade AVID Elective Classes. We've expanded our reach schoolwide, implementing AVID Strategies to support all Ridgely students. With 74 current AVID Scholars and 153 RMS AVID Alumni, we're proud of our program's success and the positive impact our scholars are making in our community. They're the changemakers of tomorrow, poised to make a difference in the world!
